Six FOBI Judges Pass Training and Receive International Judge Certificates in Shanghai

Six judges from the Indonesian Dragon and Lion Dance Federation (FOBI) successfully passed an international judge training course in Shanghai, China, and received international judge certificates. Held from September 24 to 29, 2026, the course was part of FOBI’s efforts to strengthen the quality of Indonesian judges at the international level.

The six judges were Heryanto Salim from Banten, Andrean Wijaya from Jakarta, Ferry Ruslim Wijaya from Bali, David So from North Sumatra, Lie Vincent Ivan Haryanto from the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and Helmi Okyanto Yosudarso from West Java. All completed the training and passed the assessments.

FOBI Chairman Edy Kusuma expressed his appreciation for the results achieved by all six participants. He hopes their certification will help them perform their judging duties more effectively, maintain objectivity, and uphold professionalism in every competition.

He also hopes the judges will contribute to judge development in their respective regions. By sharing the experience gained in Shanghai, they can help prepare more Indonesian judges to meet international competition standards.

For FOBI, the success of all six participants provides further encouragement to continue developing its judges. Competent judges with integrity are essential to assessing athletes fairly and maintaining confidence in competition results.

This achievement strengthens Indonesia’s readiness to contribute to lion dance judging at the international level. FOBI hopes it will also benefit the quality of competitions and the development of lion dance in Indonesia.
