The Indonesian Lion Dance Federation (FOBI) expressed its support for the Chinese New Year Reception hosted by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Denpasar, Bali, on Monday, 10 February 2026. The event took place from 7:00 PM WITA until completion at Hongkong Garden Restaurant, located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Bali.
The reception was attended by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Denpasar, H.E. Zhang Zhi Sheng, as well as the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster. The presence of these distinguished figures reflected the strong friendship and harmonious relations between Indonesia and China, while also highlighting Bali’s spirit of cultural tolerance and diversity.
The event was also attended by representatives of various Chinese-Indonesian organizations and community groups, including INTI, PSMTI, HAKKA, HAINAN, PAKABAR, and other community representatives. The celebration was organized in the form of an artistic performance combined with a formal dinner, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that fostered mutual respect and cultural exchange.
As a form of support, the Central Board of FOBI, under the leadership of its President, Edy Kusuma, contributed to the event by presenting a Lion Dance performance delivered by a Bali-based Lion Dance team. The performance became one of the highlights of the evening and received enthusiastic appreciation from the invited guests. Beyond entertainment, the Lion Dance symbolized prayers for prosperity, harmony, and good fortune in the year ahead.
FOBI’s participation in this event reflects the federation’s ongoing commitment to preserving cultural heritage while promoting Lion Dance as both a competitive sport and a cultural art form. Through such initiatives, FOBI aims to strengthen collaboration with government institutions, cultural communities, and international partners, while continuing to promote unity in diversity through sport and culture.
