The Indonesian Dragon and Lion Dance Sports Federation (FOBI) – Banten Province once again showed its strong commitment to improving human resources in the field of Barongsai by organizing the Regional Judges Training FOBI Banten 2025. The training was held for three days, from April 18 to 20, 2025, at Buddhi Dharma University Building, Tangerang.
This training was attended by 26 participants who either live in the Banten area or are active members of FOBI Banten. The average age of participants ranged between 25 and 30 years old.

The main goal of this training was to improve participants’ knowledge and understanding of accurate and standardized judging systems. Furthermore, the training aimed to produce regional judges who are professional, qualified, and ready to contribute to the development of Barongsai, especially in Banten Province.
Over the three-day training, participants experienced a comprehensive learning process. On the first day, they received theoretical lessons about the fundamentals of judging across various Barongsai categories. On the second day, they took part in practical sessions to apply what they had learned. The third day was dedicated to evaluation through both theory and practical exams, to assess the participants’ understanding and skills.

FOBI Banten invited four experienced national instructors who have participated in many competitions at both national and international levels. Willy served as the instructor for the Dragon category, Wan Gust Halim for Pekingsai, Heryanto Salim for Traditional Barongsai, and Andry Wijaya for Freestyle Barongsai. Their presence brought great value to the training, as participants received not only theoretical knowledge but also practical insights from seasoned professionals.

Through this training, FOBI Banten hopes to prepare regional judges who are ready to officiate in various championships, carrying out fair and objective assessments based on official regulations. Having well-trained judges is essential to building a healthy and competitive match environment, while also encouraging athletes and teams to continue improving their performance.
