The Indonesian Dragon and Lion Dance Sport Federation / Federasi Olahraga Barongsai Indonesia (FOBI) has been officially recognized as a competitive sport since 2013, when it became a member of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI).

Indonesia is the first country in the world where Lion Dance has been officially recognized as a sport by the government.

The Lion Dance sports team has brought pride to Indonesia 15 times from 2007 to 2024.

For the first time, the Lion Dance sport was competed under the name President’s Cup, Minister of Defense Cup, and Minister of Youth and Sports Cup.
