Pangkalpinang, July 19, 2025 – The Indonesian Dragon and Lion Dance Federation (FOBI) officially inaugurated the Provincial Board of Bangka Belitung at the Pasir Padi Room, Governor’s Office of Bangka Belitung Province, on Saturday (19/7). This moment marks an important step in strengthening the presence and development of lion dance as a sport in the region.
During the event, Mrs. Me Hoa was officially appointed as the Chairperson of FOBI Bangka Belitung Province, along with other board members. The inauguration also included the official handover of Decrees (SK) to the City Board of Pangkalpinang and the Regency Boards of Bangka and Belitung, as part of the effort to solidify the organizational structure down to the city and regency levels.
Edy Kusuma, the President of the FOBI National Board (PB FOBI), was represented by Executive Chairman Arifin Himawan and Secretary General Heryanto Salim, who officiated the new provincial board. Also present was Wan Gust Halim, Head of the Development and Refereeing Division, who conducted a socialization session and coaching clinic for city and regency board members.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by various government and institutional representatives. Among them were the Chair of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Sports Committee (KONI), represented by Secretary General Framayoga; the Governor of Bangka Belitung Province, represented by the Head of the Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Widya Kemalasari; the Provincial Police Chief, represented by Pangkalpinang Police Chief Kombes Pol M. Max Marines; and the Military Resort Commander (Danrem), represented by Colonel Imam Laksono Wibowo.
This inauguration marks the beginning of collaborative work among regional boards to design athlete development and achievement programs, and to expand networks and partnerships. With the new leadership under Mrs. Me Hoa, FOBI Bangka Belitung is expected to grow into a solid and progressive new force in the national lion dance scene.
